Mother's Day Review & Giveaway: Pooters Diapers #clothdiapers

I was first interested in Pooters after reading about the diapers on a blog I follow but was very excited to find such a wonderful information resource as well!

Pooters is run by a stay-at-home mom who is extremely friendly! That is something I appreciate in my customer service experience, so I had to mention it. She first began her journey into cloth diapering for green reasons and then discovered the wide variety of benefits! Pooters was launched as a way to help other parents and provide a great information resource.

Now, back to the diaper! When the diaper I arrived, I was impressed by how soft it felt. The Pooters One Size Hemp Fitted Diaper is my first hemp fitted. I have used some hemp inserts in our pockets before and was pleased with how they have helped with absorbency but I had never used a hemp fitted. The Pooters One Size Fitted Diapers are made of 6 layers of soft, organic bamboo or hemp - providing extra absorbency beyond your average cotton fitted diaper. After reading that information I was worried some diaper would arrive that felt like a bunch of sticks or something. Yes, I admit that the words hemp and organic in the same sentence gave me that visual. Sometimes my mind is a strange place!

After prepping it, by washing it 5 times (not the full 8 to increase to full absorbency) I was ready to see how it fit on W. Now, as you know, I'm not the biggest snaps fan but that is only because it has been challenging to get a good fit on W with snaps. Many of them never seem to be quite where I need them to be to get a good fit. This was not the case with our Pooters One Size Hemp Fitted Diaper!

The placement of the snaps worked perfectly on W this time! I was very excited as he is starting to want to "help" at changing time and those hook and loop tabs seem to attract his hands. Once the snaps are snapped, his little hands are no match for them and the diaper stays on! I'm worried that our future involves W running around without a diaper with a proud grin on his face.

Until now we are safe, but I really liked the fit of the Pooters fitted. It was snug without being too tight and it didn't leave any marks anywhere on him.

While it fits well now, there is also room to grow so I think we will be able to use it for quite awhile! The diaper came with two booster/soakers. One is a long soaker that snaps into the diaper and then folds over. The second is a smaller soaker that can be used as needed. We have not had a need for the second at this point but it may be a wonderful night time solution! We have made it through plenty of naps using only the long booster although I will remind everyone that W's naps usually only average about 30 minutes. But it's nice to not have to worry if he falls asleep before I have a chance to change him!

Our Pooters One Size Hemp Fitted Diaper fits well under both covers I currently have to use with fitteds. It fit well under our Thirsties Duo Wrap size 2 and our Zookies medium diaper cover. The fitted itself is fairly trim but it does get a bit bulky once a cover is added but this is to be expected with a fitted and a cover. It's not a big issue for us when we're just hanging out around the house!

I have been using this diaper for a few weeks and have definitely seen an increase in absorbency as I have washed it a few more times. It is recommended that you wash hemp and bamboo diapers and diapering products 8 times to reach maximum absorbency. Hemp and bamboo have natural oils in them that are not fully dissolved until they have been washed at least 8 times. So, while the fitted worked well when I first tried it, I definitely saw an increase in absorbency with subsequent washings!

Overall, this is a great fitted! It's very absorbent and very affordable as well! Even better is the fact that the Pooters website is also such an amazing resource for cloth diapering families! Pooters is highly recommended by me!
