A to Z Challenge: S is for Stars & Stripes

S got me caught up a bit when it came to staying with my cloth diaper theme for the week. I was going to go with S is for Snap-in and highlight systems with snap in inserts but I really wanted to try and stay with something that had to do with color or design so... S is for Stars & Stripes!

We do not own any diapers with stars on them although I would love to have one (or more)! We do have one striped diaper and we've had issues with it leaking so that is a bummer because it is minky too! (Ooh... I could have done S is for Soft and focused on minky!) Anyway, I wish more diaper makers offered prints that featured stars or stripes because they really are pretty cute.

I featured our striped Kawaii Snazzy Minky earlier this week on the P is for Prints post. It's definitely cute and it's definitely soft!

Thirsties offers Duo Diapers and Duo Wraps in the Cool Stripes and Warm Stripes prints!

GroVia used to offer two shells with stripes, including the Seaside Stripe.

CuteyBaby has some great blue stripes. This print is called Nantucket Stripe.

Nifty Nappy also had a wonderful Spring Stripe print.

I'm sure there are many other stripes out there and if you find a great one I would love to see it! I love stripes (and polka dots too) but stars can get me even faster. They are so cute. Here are a few great diapers I found that feature stars!

Blueberry offers a pocket diaper in this great Stars print!

This amazing diaper is from Bummis!

The green stars is another print available from Kawaii. They definitely have some cute (and affordable) prints!

I love all of the stars and stripes I found and I will be on the lookout for more! These prints test my resilience! We do not need diapers right now, no we do not! If I keep telling myself that maybe I will be able to resist temptation!

A to Z Challenge: P is for Prints

Continuing with the diaper theme this week, P is for Prints. One of the perks of using cloth is the adorable prints that are available! When I first began researching when I was pregnant, I admit that I got a little jealous because I was having a little boy and there were so many more cute prints for girls! But that has changed in the past year since I began looking into using cloth. I only have a few diapers in prints and would definitely love to have more if I could justify buying more diapers. If no one has warned you yet, I will go ahead and do it. Buying cloth diapers is very addictive! Even though I don't need more diapers, I am always tempted to buy more when I spot a good deal or see a new cute diaper! But anyway, back to the prints! We have a Thirsties Duo Wrap, a GroVia Hybrid, two Kawaii Snazzy Minkys, and a Sunbaby 3.0.

Our Thirsties Duo Wrap is in the wonderful Blackbird print. I also love the Cool Stripes print as well as the more girly prints.

Our GroVia Hybrid Shell is the Owls print, which I adore. They also offer an airplane print that is very original!

Our Kawaii Snazzy Minkys are two different prints and I'm fairly sure neither are available any longer.

Finally, we have a Sunbaby 3.0.

For the second five, I have tried to narrow it down to five diapers with prints that I would love to have in my stash! Of course, there are many, many more out there as it seems like almost every diaper line now features at least a print or two.

I love the Giraffe prints that Best Bottom offers!

Envibum has recently added some prints and I like them all. The cherry print is pretty cute!

I know I speak highly of Happy Heinys all of the time, but they have some great prints that I would love to have! I like the Glow in the Dark Skulls, but they also have great prints like Groovy Circles!

Blueberry Diapers
has blue, green, and pink camo in minky!

And one of the first prints I ever fell in love with (and I'm not sure why I don't have one) is Rumparooz Gumball! They also have some great new prints I would love to get my hands on.

Of course, this was just a small sample of the wonderful prints that are available and if you buying WAHM diapers, the print possibilities seem to be endless! Just another perk of going the cloth diaper route!

Cloth Diapers: Free Shipping

When I was beginning to build a stash for W last year, there was one thing I found myself looking for very quickly when deciding which diaper sites to purchase from and that was free shipping! If there was a great sale going on, then I might have been willing to pay for shipping but it had to be affordable. Once I found some great shops that offered free shipping with no minimum, I was sold!

Maybe I'm spoiled, but it's even worse now. In recent times I have yet to find a sale that is good enough for me to be willing to pay for shipping! I've been spoiled by the sites that don't and also by Amazon Mom. If you're like me and prefer not to pay shipping, I wanted to mention the shops I buy from (and love) that offer free shipping with no minimum order purchase.

Wee Little Changes is one of my newest favorites and if you're looking for quick and FREE shipping on ALL U.S. orders, check them out! I also have a referral button on the left sidebar if you're interested in making a purchase!

I have purchased a great deal of my stash from Sweetbottoms Baby Boutique. The customer service is amazing. There was a problem with one of my orders once and it was resolved quickly as soon as it was noticed. Quick and FREE shipping on all U.S. orders!

Abby's Lane is the other shop where I have purchased a good chunk of our diapers. She offers FREE shipping on all U.S. orders and a 5% discount code for her newsletter readers!

Amazon Mom also offers FREE 2-day shipping on items sold by Amazon. I have gotten a few cloth related items using my Amazon Mom membership. The items available that are actually sold by Amazon are fairly limited, so you have to be very careful. I have purchased a GroVia shell with soakers, extra GroVia soakers, a Thirsties Fab Fitted Duo, and two Thirsties Duo Wraps. I know there are also some FuzziBunz that qualify. My items from Amazon always arrive within the 2 day period so it's a nice program if what you are looking for is sold by Amazon! If you're interested, check out my referral button on the left sidebar.

I also combine my Amazon Mom discounts with Amazon gift cards I earn using my Swagbucks. If you're not into Swagbucks and would like to learn more about it, just drop me an email. I would love to chat with you about it. I'm not insane when it comes to earning but since I joined at the end of July 2010, I have earned enough Swagbucks for 28 Amazon gift cards. At $5 each, this works out to $140! If you're looking for a referral link, you're welcome to use mine.

I have purchased from other places, especially when looking for used items or when making a sale purchase. Last year around Earth Day there were a number of good sales that made some of the shipping costs worth paying based on what I was saving on the diapers. But most of the time I am all about the free shipping!

Waiting for fluff!

I haven't bought any diapers in quite awhile. I've been very busy just using the diapers I have on W! Plus, I'm on the unpaid stretch of my maternity leave so I've been trying to watch my money. But I won a giveaway at Marine Parents for a $20 gift certificate to Wee Little Changes so I had a little to spend. Instead of going with something I've tried and am familiar with, I decided to branch out and order something that's new for us. I decided to try the GroVia AI2 system. With the free shipping they offer I only paid $4.95 for a shell with an insert. I ordered the Owls print from Wee Little changes.

I also had some Amazon 20% and $10 codes to use which could be used on the GroVia AI2 as well, so I ordered another shell set with insert for $4.95 (free shipping using Amazon Mom). The Ice color was the one that was available to be fulfilled and shipped by Amazon. I had planned on using some of my Swagbucks gift cards to cover the difference, but I had already saved them on another account so I ended up just paying the $4.95. My swag will be there when I want to buy something else (additional inserts perhaps?) and it will all balance out!

Then I found out that Franklin Goose had some things on sale so I went to check it out. I picked up a pack of GroVia boosters, a medium Happy Heiny in sage, and a large Happy Heiny in red. I don't know if I'll need the boosters but they were very cheap. I'm excited about the Happy Heinys! We had one of the smalls when W was a newborn and it was one of our favorites. I will admit that I only bought it because it was on a great sale and I was able to get a black one! Hopefully we will like the medium and large just as much! I wish they had some of the black in the medium or large, but I'm excited about the red one! I've wanted a red diaper!

I felt good about these purchases since I read a lot about how Happy Heinys make good swim diapers as well. Since they were half off, I spent about $22 for all of it including shipping. I usually try not to pay for shipping but sometimes it works out to be worth it.

My GroVia from Amazon came yesterday, but I'm waiting for the rest! I love waiting for fluffy mail!

AI2? Something new?

I recently won a blog giveaway at Marine Parents for a $20 gift certificate to Wee Little Changes. I have browsed at Wee Little Changes (free U.S. shipping!) in the past but never placed an order through them. I've been browsing again trying to decide what I might like to order. I am debating going with something that I know works for us (which are BG OS 3.0s right now) or branching out and trying something new because it won't cost me very much.

I think I've decided to try the GroVia AI2. My thinking is that the AI2 system looks very intriguing. While I love the pockets we're using right now, I'm a sucker for new things and also for cute prints! Plus, I have some Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks and an Amazon coupon so I could also get an additional GroVia shell and boosters for very little money out of my pocket. Decisions, decisions.

I've been debating this for a few days and I think I've finally committed to trying the GroVia AI2 but now I have to decide on which print I want to get. At least I know I definitely want a print and that I definitely want aplix. We're definitely aplix lovers at this point. It works best on W's little chub of a belly. So now to decide... owls or nature?

And from Amazon, I can get a blue birds if I'm quick. I would also get some extra inserts and have a nice little sample to try out.
Oh, what to do! Cloth diapering has turned me into a monster! Yes, I'm addicted. I confess.
